Art Mystery ----- The Virgin of the Rocks
The Virgin of the Rocks (c. 1483-86) painted by Leonardo Da vinci and two local artists (the Predis brothers), in the church of San Fransesco Grande , now in Louvre museum, Paris. This painting was originally meant for the church but due to some disputes it was later sold . Later another version was painted supposdly by davinci himself which embellish in the church later moved to National Gallarie, London.
On a first glimpse both luks almost identical however there are differences in both pics. Just like "Find the difference" games in newspapers. There are many mysteries shrouds over the former and later versions which had been pointed out by decoders. This painting was also referred by Dan Brown in his novel "Davinci code".
As in the former version(louvre) leonardo wasn't in the mood to depict Mother Mary and Jhon the Baptist as angels.Why? But later it was modified as seen in the London version.
Now lets spot the differences .............
The subject matter of the painting is that John the Baptist , cousin of Jesus, got blessed by Jesus on their way to Egypt.

in this picture its unclear who is Jhon the Baptist and who is Jesus. However as per the subjectJesus supposed to bless Jhon , then the infant sitting on the ground(slightly lowerly placed from Jhon) is Jesus. Then why jesus is away from his mother.
Mother mary in the picture has been depicted as keeping her hand on jesus head as a sign of blessing him and the angel pointing her index finger towards Jhon.This gesture as can be seen on the picture is quite strange as it luks like the angel is beheading by the neck. Does the angel fore telling the beheading of Jhon the Baptist.
But luk at her eyes. She is looking towards Jesus. What did she intends?
However it was later rectified in the later version as u can see in the next image.
Now the next best thing! Answer me .
Wat the heck is that bulge behind the angel's SHROUD???
Is it another baby??? If it is then who else is there??? And why it had been hidden.
Previously no Halo was made by devinci but later it was rectified as u can see over Mother Mary, Jhon the Baptist, and Jesus.
But why Jesus is posed lower to Jhon?????
Have u been blessed or took blessiing from anyone sitting below you.
It might be because Jhon was elder then Jesus. Dont know.
And most remarkably in the later version angels insinuation towards Jhon by her beheading index finger was removed.
The Mother Mary was sitting holding Jhon the Baptist by her right arm and keeping her left arm afloat above jesus as if she is transmitting something from Jhon to Jesus. Is it a blessing in return????
